SUK CHAMBER ORCHESTRA, concert marking the 75th birthday of Josef Vejvoda – a not entirely standard review
Bohuslav Martinů Hall, Academy of Performing Arts, Prague, October 2020
The second number, VERSI SANTI for mezzo-soprano and strings, was lit up by the performance of sympathetic Barhora de Nunes-Cambraia, clad in an elegant silver-and-black dress which didn´t fail to underpin the artist´s feminine charm, a perfect match for her sophisticatedly captivating singing. This mezzo-soprano, a nominee for the 2016 Thálie Award for her creation of Carmen, tours widely across the Czech Republic and abroad, since September 2015 combining her artistic career with voice teaching at the Teplice Conservatory. She enhanced the whole evening by a sparkling hue that elicited adequate response from the audience whose applause was definitely more than just appreciative.
