Viewed from a more rigorous angle, an overall sharper focus on interpretational style was not exactly at the fore of attention in the evening´s course, with the vocal expression involving a willingly deliberate share of romanticizing tendency. That said, the one who met with truly remarkable assurance and faithfulness to style the demands posed by phrasing, the leading of instrumentally consistently formed phrases, and the need of flawless intonation, was mezzo-soprano Barbora Polášková in the role of Medea´s confidante, Neris.
